Single winding with no center tap.
These have 5 pins, 3 pins on one side and 2 on the other side.
These are not that hard to rewind and do a secondary winding using the 2 pins or You can also do a center tap on the 3 pin side.
These are easy to take a part, here is how.
Take a small screw driver and turn the adj. slug in and keep turning and it will push the bottom part of the coil form out of the metal can.
Easy to put back together also after rewinding, if that is what You want to do.

30 Meter Little Joe Transmitter Kit.
This little 30 meter transmitter for 30 meters is and adapted from the W7ZOI design that a lot of us call the Little Joe Transmitter.
This Unit here was featured in QST NOV. 1986 Page 43 and was also featured in QRP CLASSICS [long out of print] page 96.
The circuit is all most Identical to Original Little Joe circuit.
Adaptions to the original circuit were made by WD4DDS as well as the Article that was in the Nov. 1986 QST.
There have been a few people that have wanted a small little 30 meter Transmitter like the Little Joe that is avail for other bands.
Well here it is.
The kit includes everything the other Little Joe kits above include plus a copy of the Article.
I decided to build one of these just to make sure it did work.
It works great and a little over 1 watt of RF POWER OUT..With a MOTOROLA MRF8004 for the final at approx 12.5 volts.
The other 2 transistors are a 2N2222A metal and a 2N4036 OR 2N4037 Switching transistors.
The crystal is a 30 meter crystal HC-18U Package.
I built this unit ugly construction and did not use a small format.
I like lots of finger room because of Arthritis in these old fingers of mine!
Look at the couple of photos and the out put is a little over 1 watt on the 10 watt scale of the meter in photo.
I did not do any tweaking or stuff like that. After a couple of smoke tests and then going back and finding My errors got the little unit to fire up.
The keyed signal has kind of a soft tone to it and I like that.
As stated the kit includes everything the other little Joe kits above include and the price...

I-land Pad Cuter Pad Photos

With a little practice the cutter makes some pretty nice pads. The pads are easy to tin up and start mounting parts.
You do need a drill press how ever..I have tried using a hand drill and You get that bounce effect!! That means the drill wants to travel all over the pc board. If You look at one of the photos You can see what I mean.
One hint to make sure You do is make sure You check that there are no bridges between the pad and the Adjacent PC Board material.
A dental pic works great for this to run in the little grove that pad cutter makes to clean out and make sure no bridges.
I love the little drill press You see in one of the Photos.
Its a little PROXXON and the chuck takes up to 1/4" dia. bits.
Its kind a pricy little out fit, but handy to have around.
Micro Mart also sells something very close if not a clone of this little drill press, in fact they sell 2 sizes.
And they are less money than the PROXXON.

Nice SENSITIVE 200 ľA Panel Meter. The
Coil Resistance 650 ohm. [ 0.2ma-0.3ma ] This meter has a little neon light and not sure of the voltage but I used a 9 volt battery to fire it up. So..I would think up to 12 volts or so and maybe down to 6 volt. The scale on the meter reads..1-2-3-4-5 red letters The top part of the scale on meter reads.1-3-5-7-9-db-30 Blue letters The lower part of scale is for watts and the upper part is for s-meter reading...or come up with your own ideas. In the 2nd photo you can see 3 meters and this should give you a good idea of what all of the meter looks like.. The face of the meter measures 1/3/8" and the front of the meter that includes the little indentation on front of meter..that is a hair over 1-1/2"..This includes the little part that drops off. front to back of meter...is..approx 1-1/2 inches. CAUTION The meter does have a + sign on meter for postive lead and negative sign for negative lead. The coil on the meter will not handle much current at all...so..do not hook a battery direct to the 2 terminals on the meter. If you do you will pretty much blow the coil..then the meter will be open and will not work. I am mentioning this because I know there are a few out there that want to see the needle zing......well..it will if you hook a battery direct with out current dropping resisitor in series with the postive lead of the battery...[1.5volt battery with 47k resistor in line with postive lead of battery] I have checked each meter befor it is packed..checked to make sure the meter movement is ok and that also the little neon light lights up..
